There is a legal duty under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 to give suitable instruction and training to operational and management staff to enable them carry out their duties. Training staff to required skills levels and making them aware of their responsibilities minimizes unexpected lost time or unrecoverable costs and provides a safer working environment for everyone, including patients.
